Rabobank is among the world's 30 largest financial institutions based on Tier 1 Capital with a continuing and growing presence in Australia and New Zealand. Both Rabobank Australia & New Zealand are guaranteed by their ultimate parent.
Financial performance
In the year to 31 December 2009, the global Rabobank Group recorded a net profit of €2.3 billion. Total income rose two per cent to €11.9 billion, with total assets in excess of €608 billion.
Structure and management
Although now a major international financial services institution, Rabobank has retained its cooperative structure, with approximately 147 independent Dutch banks as its members. True to its cooperative origins, the bank’s primary interest lies in providing the best service, value and expertise, and in establishing mutually beneficial relationships with its clients and the communities in which they operate.
Corporate social responsibility
The Rabobank Group is a global leader in sustainable practices and corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. This incorporates a focus on sustainability-oriented banking in areas including renewable energy, biofuels and clean technology.
Rabo Development
In 2004 Rabobank decided to expand its geographical and strategic scope in developing countries and to develop leading nationwide banks with a rural orientation in selected developing countries. Today Rabo Development operates in a number of underprivileged and developing countries, to provide equal access to financial services which in turn helps to foster economic independence among local communities.
Rabobank Australia & New Zealand
Rabobank Australia & New Zealand is part of Rabobank International, the Rabobank Group’s international arm. Rabobank established an office in Australia in 1990 and acquired the Primary Industry Bank of Australia (PIBA) operating in Australia and New Zealand in 1994. In 1998, Rabobank reinforced its commitment to the rural sector in New Zealand with the purchase of Wrightson Farmers Finance. The bank has continued to expand and develop its operations in both countries in the years since.

With headquarters in Sydney, Rabobank now has 53 branches throughout Australia and 30 branches in New Zealand. The group employs over 900 people in Australia and New Zealand, with more than half based in regional locations.

The online savings and investment service, providing high-interest savings and deposits and direct access to managed funds.
