The environments in which we work and live
are both inextricably linked, which is why Rabobank is committed
to leaving a small a footprint on the planet. In an attempt
to minimise the impact our business has on the environment,
we have developed a program that we refer to as Rabobank and
the Environment, to ensure that our work practices are sustainable.
Directly or indirectly these initiatives give all employees
the opportunity to influence the way we leave the environment
for future generations.
Some of the measures that we have taken include:
A centralised paper recycling program for Australia and
New Zealand
Use of environmentally friendly paper for copying and
printing
Ensuring all of our external brochures and forms are
printed on environmentally-friendly paper, and wherever
possible, using vegetable inks and a certified environmentally
friendly printing process
Recycling of toner cartridges from our printers, copiers
and faxes via Close the Loop, the only toner cartridge recycling
program endorsed by Planet Ark
Re-use of decommissioned computer hardware via donation
wherever possible to a not-for-profit organisation in the
local community
Safe recycling of disused mobile phones by Telstra using
best practice methods.
Darling Park 3
In keeping with our commitment to sustainability, in December of 2006, Rabobank's regional head office in Sydney and close to 500 employees relocated to Darling Park 3 in a building that is often recognised as 'best practice' in sustainable design for a conventionally designed commercial building.
