US Grains Tour 2017

Bringing the lessons home from the US Grains Tour 2017

Recently returned from the inaugural Rabobank Australia US Grains Tour, Peter Kakoschke from Sandilands on the Yorke Peninsula joins Adam Tomlinson, Rabobank Rural Manager to discuss the take home messages for Peter and his farm, and the 40 other grain farmers also on the tour.

Knowledge is Power

Designed to harness business, industry and production know-how, Rabobank’s US Grains Tour brought together leading Australian grain producers for a dynamic two week tour through the Midwest farming land of the United States.

The two-week tour – comprising 41 grain growers from all states of Australia – took in all aspects of the US grain industry supply chain, covering the heart of the American mid-west grain belt through Missouri, Minnesota and Illinois.

At the farm gate

Here's what the participants had to say:

“To have access and see the types of properties and places that we went to was really exciting and something you’d never been able to do ‘under your own steam’. We were visiting farms that were in the top five or 10 per cent of the country’s producers”

Stuart and Leanne Hulme, Grain Grower, NSW
