Last call for nominations: Rabobank Young Beef Ambassador program – Beef Australia 2015

April 08, 2015
Nominations are soon to close for the 2015 Rabobank Young Beef Ambassador program, an initiative supported by Beef Australia aimed at recognising young, forward-thinking and high-achieving beef producers.

All nominations must be entered by 5pm on April 19, in order to be considered for the 2015 selection process.

Nominees can be from any part of rural Australia but must be between 18-35 years of age with at least three years of on-farm experience. They must be currently working in a successful and progressive farming business and demonstrate commitment and vision for the future of the Australian beef industry.

Rabobank state manager for QLD/NT Brad James said the Young Beef Ambassador program provided leading agriculturalists in the beef sector an opportunity to develop and harness their business skills and gain confidence to continue to progress in the industry.

"The Ambassador award winner is given a full scholarship to participate in Rabobank's highly-regarded Farm Management Program which gives participants the chance to take away new skills and techniques with a commercially-driven perspective on farm management," Mr James said.

"The Farm Managers Program attracts high-achieving individuals keen to develop their strategic thinking and management skills in an agricultural context – it's quite transformative and beneficial over a long-term period."

Designed to strengthen the operational and strategic skills of emerging farmers, the Farm Managers Program is modelled on the highly-respected Rabobank Executive Development Program, a long-standing business development course for leading Australian and New Zealand farmers.

2015 marks the 10th year of Rabobank's Farm Managers Program, with more than 300 young farmers from across Australia and New Zealand graduating from the program since its inception in 2006.
