Rabobank Australia & New Zealand Group (RANZG) has announced two new senior management appointments.
Peter Knoblanche has been appointed to the role of Deputy Managing Director, Rabobank Australia & New Zealand and Deputy CEO, Rabobank Australia, while Todd Charteris takes on the newly-created position of National Manager, Country Banking Australia.
Rabobank Australia & New Zealand CEO Thos Gieskes said the new appointments reflected an evolution in the bank’s structure to cater for its growing business, particularly in the country (rural) banking division.
Part of the international Rabobank Group, the world’s leading food and agribusiness banking specialist, Rabobank Australia & Australia is one of Australasia’s largest rural lenders and a major provider of corporate and business banking services to the region’s food and agribusiness sector.
Mr Knoblanche, who is Group Executive Country Banking Australia and has run Rabobank’s Australian country banking operations for the past nine years, will continue in this role, while taking on the expanded Deputy CEO and Deputy Managing Director responsibilities.
In the new position of National Manager, Country Banking Australia, Todd Charteris will lead the client-facing teams within Rabobank’s Australian country banking operations, where he will focus on supporting the bank’s farming and agribusiness clients and facilitating Rabobank’s continuing business growth.
He joins a three-person management team, also comprising Geoff Firth, National Manager Operational Support and Marc Oostdijk, Head of Sustainability.
Mr Knoblanche has worked with Rabobank for the past 19 years, also holding positions in structured trade finance, corporate banking, structured commodity finance and commodity price risk management.
He has more than 30 years’ experience in the banking industry, working in previous roles with several Australian and international banks.
Mr Charteris has held the position of Rabobank’s State Manager Victoria for the past four years.
He joined Rabobank in New Zealand in 2000 and was previously Regional Manager for New Zealand’s East Coast.
Prior to joining Rabobank, Mr Charteris spent time in various agri-business roles in New Zealand and also gained experience working in London in the banking sector.
Recruitment is underway for a successor to Mr Charteris in the role of Victorian State Manager, with a replacement to be announced shortly.
