Good for you, good for Australia

The Rabobank Difference

Saving with Rabobank is about more than just great rates. Your savings help us support Australian farmers and agribusinesses, creating a unique connection between savers and the people who help feed our communities. It's a difference you can feel good about.

How to qualify for bonus interest
Grow your balance

Make sure your closing balance on the last business day of the month is at least $2,000 higher than it was at the start of the month. This is in addition to any interest paid.

Have the balance in place by the last business day

To keep things running seamlessly, we suggest depositing the required funds a few days early, as incoming payments may take up to three business days to clear.

Earn bonus interest for the month

If you meet these steps, you’ll earn bonus interest for the month (and will be paid to you on the first day of the following month).

If you're a regular saver, our PremiumSaver Account is perfect for you. Just increase your net balance by at least $200 (or $2000 if you have a business account) before the last business day of every month (in addition to any interest paid into the account) and you’ll earn bonus interest.

All you need to do is ensure that your PremiumSaver closing balance on the last Business Day of the month is at least $200 (or $2000 if you have a business account) greater than the balance at the beginning of the first day of the month (in addition to any interest paid into the account).

Example for Personal, Joint, SMSF and Trust accounts:

  • If your starting balance for March was $2,500 and you receive $20 of interest on the 1st of March, withdraw $800 to pay your car insurance on the 5th of March, you will need to deposit at least $1,000 by the last business day of March to ensure that your balance grows by at least $200.

The interest paid into your PremiumSaver is not considered a deposit for the purposes of calculating bonus interest eligibility. If you withdraw your interest during the month you will need to ensure you make deposits to cover the interest amount withdrawn (and any other amounts withdrawn) and at least an additional $200 ($2,000 for businesses) to be eligible for the bonus rate by the last business day.

If you make a withdrawal from your PremiumSaver account and you do not grow your balance during the month then you will earn the ‘PremiumSaver base rate’. To earn the bonus rate you will need to grow your balance, as at the last day of the previous month, by at least $200 or $2,000 if you have a business account by the last business day (in addition to any interest paid into the account).

Example for Personal, Joint, SMSF and Trust accounts:

  • If you withdraw $500 within the month, you will need to deposit a total of $700 on or before the last business day of the same month back into the PremiumSaver.

You can check how much you need to grow your balance to earn bonus interest for the month within internet banking and the mobile app.

From your mobile app…click on PremiumSaver, then click on ‘View account details’ and there will be a message highlighting the amount (in addition to any interest paid into the account) you will need to increase your balance by.

From internet banking.. click on PremiumSaver and then click on ‘Rates & Details’ and there will be a message highlighting the amount you will need to increase your balance by.

You can transfer funds into your Rabobank PremiumSaver using the 'Transfer money’ feature via both Internet and Mobile Banking if you have direct debits enabled. To enable direct debit functionality please contact our Sydney based team on 1800 445 445, Monday to Friday between 6am and 8pm.

You can also transfer funds into any of your Rabobank Online Savings accounts including HISA and PremiumSaver accounts via electronic funds transfer (EFT) from most Australian accounts using your Rabobank BSB and account number.

To help you not to miss out on PremiumSaver bonus interest you might like to consider setting up a recurring payment that direct debits by at least $200 ($2,000 for Business Entities) by the last business day (in addition to any interest paid into the account) from your Linked Account every month. If you set up a recurring payment for the 23rd of the month or earlier will ensure that the funds are received by the last business day of the month.

A business day is a day excluding a Saturday, Sunday or national public holiday. To earn bonus interest your PremiumSaver must grow by at least $200 (or $2,000 if you have a business account) by the last business day of the month (in addition to any interest paid into the account ). For example, if the 30th of June (last day of the month) is on Saturday then you will need to grow your balance by the end of Friday the 29th of June.
