Having grown up on a family sheep and wool property in Western NSW’s Walgett region, Kate Adams has a first-hand appreciation of agriculture.

Kate and her husband Bill, who also grew up on a farm in the Warialda district, are now proud to continue contributing to agriculture by saving with Rabobank.

With 100 percent of Rabobank deposits supporting Australian farmers, food and agribusinesses, Kate said the values of the bank aligned with her own.

“Our farmers are the lifeblood of society – they feed us, clothe us and contribute enormously to the Australian economy and to our rural and regional communities,” Kate says.

Together with their children, Maggie, 13 and Digby, 11, the Adams family lives in the rural community of Moree, and Rabobank’s strong reputation in agriculture was a key driver in her decision to open a savings account.

“I’ve been a Rabobank Online Saver for 15 years now, and while the competitive rate was what initially attracted me, the fact that I knew and trusted Rabobank was greatly comforting.”

“I don’t think I could put my savings into a full online organisation and send my money out into the cyber world – at Rabobank I know there are faces and people behind the products.”

Last year Kate had the opportunity to meet with the deposits team on the ground in Moree, demonstrating the value Rabobank place on relationships.

“I’d certainly never heard of a bank sending their savings team on the road to meet customers, it was quite incredible, and they were so lovely with impressive expertise -  which gives me even greater assurance that my savings are in great hands.”

Kate has a High Interest Savings Account (HISA), which she contributes to regularly with the intention of it supporting the education of her two children.

“It’s been very easy to save with our Rabobank HISA, everything is online and the account is linked to our everyday banking account which keeps things really streamlined,” she explains.

“The transfers are quick, and there are no account keeping fees which is an added bonus."

With a diversified portfolio, Kate says the HISA is an important cash component of their family’s financial strategy.

“I work in finance as a book keeper, and my husband works in agriculture, so for us, Rabobank Online Savings ticks all the boxes.”

“I can see our savings growing, and with my brother and his family still on the family farm in Walgett, I know I’m helping farmers on the ground which is a really unique point of difference Rabobank offers.”
