Tour Highlights
In August 2018, 30 leading farmers from across Australia and New Zealand spent six days together, travelling from Melbourne, through farming regions of western Victoria and south east South Australia, before ending the tour in Adelaide.
During the tour, the group had the opportunity to gain a unique perspective on the Australian sheep and wool industry, learning about:
- Latest technology in meat and wool processing facilities
- Getting the most out of digital technology on livestock farms
- Breeding a dual purpose animal
- Carbon farming
- Expanding a farm business downstream
Led by Rabobank’s sheep sector banking specialists, the group visited processing businesses, such as the Australian Lamb Company, technology based enterprises and iconic wool and sheep producing operations.
They have shared the knowledge and networked with each other, industry leaders, Rabobank executives and RaboResearch analysts.
